Škoda unveils 2026 Slavia facelift for Indian market
Škoda Auto India has unveiled the 2026 facelift of the Slavia, a mid-size sedan developed specifically for the Indian market. The updated model introduces several segment-first features, including a rear-seat massage function and an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission for the 1.0 TSI engine. Other technological upgrades include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Google-powered AI capabilities, and a 360-degree camera.
Visually, the Slavia receives a refreshed exterior with redesigned LED headlamps, sequential rear indicators, and new alloy wheel designs. The Monte Carlo trim remains available, featuring blacked-out styling elements and red brake calipers. While the sedan segment is shrinking in India relative to the growing SUV market, Škoda continues to position the Slavia as a strategic pillar of its local operations, which have seen significant growth.
Looking ahead, Škoda is also planning a return to the diesel segment with the flagship Superb, expected to launch in India by the first half of 2027. Additionally, the company is evaluating the introduction of CNG-powered variants for its Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia models to meet evolving consumer preferences. The brand is also exploring the limited import of global electric vehicle models, such as the Epiq and Elroq, as early as 2027 to maintain market relevance.
