Radisani fatal accident: Driver arrested for causing motorcyclist's death

A 46-year-old driver has been arrested following a fatal traffic accident in Radisani, near Skopje, which resulted in the death of 19-year-old motorcyclist Nikola Makrachevski.

According to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje, the incident occurred on August 7 at an unregulated intersection. The suspect, driving a Seat Altea, reportedly turned left without yielding to oncoming traffic, cutting off a Kawasaki motorcycle. To avoid a direct collision with the Seat, the motorcyclist veered into the opposite lane, where he struck an Alfa Romeo approaching from the other direction. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries.

Authorities determined through video footage that the Seat driver contributed to the accident despite having no physical contact with the other vehicles. Following the crash, the suspect fled the scene without providing assistance to the injured. Police subsequently located the vehicle and the driver in the village of Arachinovo. The suspect is being prosecuted under a shortened procedure for serious offenses against traffic safety and failure to provide assistance to an injured person.
