Skopje aims to complete new Luna Park by end of 2027

The City of Skopje has announced that the construction of a new modern Luna Park is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. The project aims to provide a contemporary entertainment complex featuring roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, water attractions, interactive games, and virtual reality zones.

Recent developments involve the mutual termination of a procurement contract following a new tender. This decision was made to avoid the double purchase of equipment and to prevent unnecessary strain on the municipal budget. The termination follows a court ruling in favor of a company involved in a previous contract signed during the administration of former Mayor Koce Trajanovski. To ensure progress, the installation of seven attractions acquired under the previous agreement is set to begin within a month, alongside site landscaping.

While the city maintains the 2027 deadline, local reports have highlighted tensions regarding the project's timeline and the cancellation of the contract with the group consisting of Mastief and Pyramid Building Solutions. Critics have pointed to the long absence of an amusement park in the city since the original site closed in 2017.
