Skopje to receive new buses and municipal hygiene vehicles

Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced that the delivery period for over 100 new urban transport buses for Skopje and other municipalities is expected to begin soon. This follows efforts by the government and the Ministry of Transport to address transport and vehicle renewal issues.

In a separate development regarding municipal hygiene, 49 new specialized vehicles have been promoted for use in Skopje and several other municipalities, including Kumanovo, Prilep, Ohrid, Tetovo, Negotino, Kercovo, Dibra, and Veles. These vehicles, which include multifunctional trucks, cisterns, and street cleaning machines, were purchased for 4.2 million euros through a World Bank project. The initiative aims to improve waste collection and street maintenance efficiency.

Additionally, Gjorgjievski confirmed that construction is beginning on the route near the ‘General Mihailo Apostolski’ bridge. This project follows the completion of expropriation payments to residents, which had previously delayed the bridge's full integration into the city's traffic network.
