Skopje begins renovation of Vardar River pedestrian zone
The City of Skopje has launched a major renovation and sanitation project for the pedestrian zone along the Vardar River quay, covering the stretch from Novo Lisice to Valae.
The initiative aims to restore the area as a safe, functional, and orderly public space for all generations. Key works include replacing damaged floor tiles, leveling uneven surfaces, and repairing damage along the pedestrian path.
This project is part of broader efforts to revitalize the riverfront, which has recently seen the construction of new sports fields and the installation of modern urban equipment. Additionally, a large-scale cleaning of the Vardar Riverbed is being conducted within the Skopje territory to improve the quality of this central urban space.
