Skopje Fortress to undergo transformation into major tourist attraction

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has announced a plan to transform the Skopje Fortress into a significant tourist attraction. The project aims to improve the site's functionality and appearance to better utilize its historical potential.

The government intends to provide both financial and logistical support to the relevant institutions to realize these activities. While some horticultural improvements have already been implemented, Mickoski noted that the current state does not fully exploit the site's potential.

Work is expected to begin this year, with significant results anticipated by next year. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the city's cultural offerings, particularly in the context of the ‘Skopje – European Capital of Culture’ initiative.
