Skopje hosts Eurodrama General Assembly and promotes Macedonian drama catalog

The General Assembly of Eurodrama, a European network for translating dramatic texts, is being held in Skopje from October 27 to November 1. The event, hosted at the Komedija Theatre and European House, brought together over sixty theater professionals from 28 countries.

A central highlight of the assembly is the promotion of the new English-language publication, ‘Catalog of Macedonian Dramas Selected by Eurodrama, 2001–2026’, compiled by Ivan Dodovski. Published by the Komedija Theatre with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the catalog provides a chronological overview of 32 selections featuring 30 plays by 18 Macedonian authors. It includes details on premieres, translations, and copyrights, serving as a resource for international directors, translators, and publishers.

Additionally, the assembly featured the presentation of a bibliography of Macedonian dramatic texts translated into foreign languages, prepared by Shenaj Mandak. During the event, Eurodrama President Ivan Dodovski noted that the platform, founded in Paris in 2001, now connects professionals across Europe, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean. The assembly also marked the 25th anniversary of the network, honoring founder Dominique Dolmio for his contributions to dramatic translation.
