Skopje municipal utility cleans area under Stone Bridge

The public utility enterprise JP Komunalna Higijena-Skopje has completed a thorough cleaning and manual washing of the area beneath the Stone Bridge in Skopje.

During the past week, the enterprise also removed 905 cubic meters of mixed municipal, bulky, and construction waste from illegal landfills across all Skopje municipalities, with the largest amount—190 cubic meters—cleared in the Gjorce Petrov municipality. Additionally, approximately 3,000 tons of mixed municipal waste were collected and transported from households and legal entities throughout the city.

Other recent activities include the replacement of 700 old waste containers with new ones and the issuance of 25 reports by eco-patrols for violations of the Law on Public Cleanliness, primarily in the Chair municipality. The enterprise also launched educational workshops at the Snezhana kindergarten in Chair, teaching 150 children about waste disposal, primary selection, and recycling processes.
