Skopje Music Faculty celebrates 60th anniversary at Ohrid Summer concert
The Faculty of Music Arts Skopje marked its 60th anniversary with a concert on 21 July at the St. Sofia church in Ohrid, part of the Ohrid Summer festival. The programme showcased eleven distinguished alumni, including singers Vesna Ginoska‑Ilkova and Ana Durlovski, bassist Igor Durlovski, pianists Katërina Gelebeshë‑Kostadinovska, Kristina Svetieva, Janinka Nevcheva and Gligor Gelebesh, flautist Katërina Bachevska, violist Nadica Ristik‑Simović, guitarist Darko Bagevski and harmonist Zlato Madevski.
Dean Daria Andovska praised the event, noting the importance of the National Institution Ohrid Summer participating in the celebration and highlighting the faculty’s role as the foundation of Macedonia’s musical pantheon. She announced a series of 2026 activities to honour the jubilee, including a documentary film, a monograph, and an original musical created by the faculty, alongside performances by the country's leading orchestras, jazz ensembles and ballet groups.
