Skopje opens first day center for persons with disabilities
Skopje has opened its first day center for persons with disabilities aged 14 and older. Located within the Youth Cultural Center (MKC), the facility aims to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for users and their families.
Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth Djoko Velkovski, and Mayor of Skopje Orce Gjorgjievski attended the opening. The center will offer psychological and professional support, alongside educational, creative, and recreational activities. These programs are designed to help users develop practical life skills, communication, independence, and self-confidence.
The initiative also serves to support caregivers and families by providing a secure environment where their loved ones are respected and encouraged to progress. Officials stated the center's focus is on the abilities and potential of individuals rather than their limitations.
