Skopje reports four incidents of stray gunfire causing injury and damage

A series of four incidents involving stray bullets occurred across Skopje, resulting in one injury and significant property damage.

A 71-year-old man from Kondovo was wounded by a stray bullet while walking toward his parked vehicle near a shopping center in the Saraj municipality. He was transported to the ‘8 Septemvri’ City General Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Other reported incidents include: - In Bit Pazar, a 30-year-old Finnish citizen reported that his Mercedes, bearing Finnish license plates, had its windshield damaged. Two bullets were found, one inside the vehicle and one outside. - In Arachinovo, a 49-year-old resident reported damage to a parked Volkswagen Golf in his yard. - In Drachevo, a 37-year-old resident reported that a stray bullet damaged the gutter of his family home.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that police teams have conducted inspections at all locations and are taking measures to investigate the cases. These incidents follow a period of heightened concern regarding illegal firearms, with police reporting at least 180 criminal offenses related to unauthorized weapons manufacturing, possession, and trafficking in 2025.
