Skopje shooting: 26-year-old killed in Dukandzik armed attack

A 26-year-old man, identified in some reports as Amir Murati, was killed during an armed attack in the Dukandzik neighborhood of Skopje. The incident occurred near the intersection of Prohor Pchinski and Vojdan Chernodrinski streets when two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on a group of five people standing in front of a business storefront.

Interior Minister Pance Toshkovski stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has obtained preliminary information and evidence regarding the perpetrators. A significant development in the case is the revelation that one of the participants in the attack is an individual currently serving a prison sentence. This has raised questions regarding the oversight and control within the penitentiary system.

While there has been public speculation regarding a potential confrontation between criminal groups, Toshkovski noted that initial findings do not suggest the attack was a territorial dispute between organized crime entities. Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office are continuing their investigation to identify the suspects and establish an official motive.
