Skopje to host IDO European Championship 2026 dance competition

Skopje is set to host the IDO European Championship 2026 from September 21 to 29. The event will feature more than 3,000 elite dancers from 26 European countries competing in classical ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance disciplines.

The championship will take place at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center. A promotional video has been released to showcase the event, blending the elegance of ballet with Macedonian traditional folklore. The video features ballerina Stefanija Gasterska, noted as the first Macedonian dancer to perform at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Filmed at Macedonia Square and the Macedonian Village complex, the promotion aims to highlight the country's cultural heritage to a European audience.
