Sky Arte documentary ‘Arte e propaganda’ examines art’s link to power

The two‑hour documentary Arte e propaganda aired on Sky Arte on 2 August 2026. Written, directed and produced by Eleonora Zamparutti and Piero Muscarà, the film traces how visual art has been used to convey ideological messages from historic totalitarian regimes to contemporary street‑art movements.

Filmed in venues across Europe and the United States, the program visits the Musei Capitolini in Rome, the Ara Pacis and Palazzo Barberini, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Musée Picasso in Paris, the Akademie der Künste in Berlin and the Frick Collection in New York.
