Sky Ranger aircraft crashes in Blora, injuring two crew members

A Sky Ranger fixed-wing aerosport aircraft crashed and caught fire in a rice field in Sarimulyo Village, Ngawen District, Blora Regency, Central Java, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, around 12:10 WIB.

The aircraft was reportedly traveling from Pangandaran, West Java, to Malang, East Java, after a refueling stop at Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta. During the flight, the aircraft experienced engine failure, prompting the pilot to attempt an emergency landing in the rice fields.

The pilot, Dhoni Vasmin A (39), and co-pilot, Ignatius Andreas (31), managed to escape the aircraft before it was consumed by flames. Both crew members sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the Ngawen community health center (Puskesmas). The aircraft was heavily damaged and destroyed by the impact and subsequent fire.
