SkyBus to launch 12-month trial in Launceston

SkyBus will begin a 12-month trial service in Launceston, Tasmania, starting November 2. The service aims to provide a reliable transport link between Launceston Airport and the city’s central business district.

Operating seven days a week, the bus will run hourly between 4:30 am and 11:15 pm. The trial includes six stops around Launceston, covering hotels and the city’s Transit Centre. Adult fares are set at $16, with special introductory rates available until November 30.

The Tasmanian Government has committed $1 million toward the initiative to support growing passenger numbers at Launceston Airport, which saw nearly 1.5 million passengers last financial year. The trial will monitor passenger demand and feedback to assess the service's long-term viability.
