Skyhook wins Shannon Stakes at Rosehill

Skyhook, the four-year-old gelding trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, secured a commanding victory in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill. Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Skyhook led throughout the 1500m race, finishing with a three-length margin over runner-up Estadio Mestalla. Private Eye finished third.

Following the win, trainer Gerald Ryan ruled out the Epsom Handicap to ensure the horse remains fresh. The current strategy focuses on the Silver Eagle in three weeks, with the long-term goal being the $10 million Golden Eagle at Randwick on October 31.
