Skylar Diggins hired as special advisor to Notre Dame women's basketball

Former Notre Dame standout and WNBA All-Star Skylar Diggins has been hired as a special advisor to head coach Niele Ivey for the Notre Dame women's basketball program. In this role, Diggins will serve as an off-the-floor mentor to student-athletes, focusing on leadership, personal development, and brand building.

While Diggins will sit on the bench during games and attend practices, she is not a formal coach and is not permitted to provide on-court instructions. Instead, her expertise will be directed toward the coaching staff, including Ivey and her assistants. Diggins will remain with the program until the start of the Unrivaled season in early January.

Diggins, who holds the former scoring record at Notre Dame, brings extensive professional experience in media and brand management. Head coach Niele Ivey noted that Diggins' ability to motivate and inspire will strengthen the team's culture and help shape the next generation of student-athletes.
