Skyline Enterprises unveils plans for Sheffield adventure leisure hub

Skyline Enterprises has unveiled plans to transform the former Sheffield Ski Village at Parkwood Springs into a major leisure and outdoor adventure destination. The New Zealand-based adventure tourism company intends to submit a formal planning application by the end of the year.

The proposed development will be implemented in multiple phases. The initial phase is expected to feature the company’s signature gravity-fed downhill karting, known as Skyline Luge, alongside a scenic chairlift, an indoor educational attraction, a café with a terrace overlooking Sheffield, a family playground, and a free outdoor plaza.

Long-term ambitions for the site include the introduction of a zipline, a surf wave experience, and the potential reintroduction of dry ski slopes to honor the location’s historical heritage. The masterplan aims to maintain or relocate existing walking and mountain bike trails to ensure continued public access. A public consultation period is currently open and will run until September 20, 2026.
