Skyline Impex booked for allegedly supplying spurious drugs to Sweden

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has registered an FIR against the partners of Nagpur-based pharmaceutical firm Skyline Impex for allegedly supplying spurious drugs to a customer in Sweden.

According to the FIR, a Swedish customer purchased research peptides, including MOTS-c, via the IndiaMART platform. Laboratory testing of a sample reportedly found no detectable active substance. The investigation revealed that the firm allegedly used counterfeit labels and fabricated Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to mimic the branding of the US-based company Peptide Sciences.

Investigators found that the counterfeit labels included QR codes designed to redirect users to the genuine company’s website to create an appearance of authenticity. Additionally, officials seized approximately 2,000 vials of bacteriostatic water marked ‘For Export Only,’ which failed quality standard tests at a government laboratory.
