Skyline organization restores 12,000 photos for Vietnamese martyr families

The Skyline organization has reached a milestone in its mission to restore and colorize historical photographs for the families of fallen soldiers. Since April 2021, the group has restored and delivered approximately 12,000 portraits to bereaved families.

In a recent significant effort, the group traveled 1,700km from Hanoi to Tay Ninh to fulfill a long-standing promise made by the late soldier Huỳnh Văn Quên. They presented a restored wedding photograph to his partner, Nguyễn Thị Lệ, who had waited nearly 60 years for him. The gift included a restored image of the young soldier in uniform alongside her, as well as an oil painting of the scene created by artist Nam Hồn.

Led by Phùng Quang Trung, the Skyline team continues its work of using technology to provide emotional closure and honor the memories of martyrs and their loved ones.
