Skyline Swansea cable car construction begins at Landore

Construction has progressed to the steel superstructure phase for the £49m Skyline Swansea attraction. Following the completion of foundations, a crane recently lifted curved steel sections onto a concrete pier at the Landore Park and Ride site, which will serve as the base station for the gondola.

The planned cable car will travel approximately one mile from Landore to the summit of Kilvey Hill. Once complete, the destination at the top of the hill is intended to feature three downhill luge tracks, a sky swing, adventure play areas, mountain biking trails, and dining facilities.

Work is also ongoing on Kilvey Hill to prepare for cable car supports and luge tracks. While the Landore Park and Ride remains operational, parking capacity has been reduced during the build. Local authorities and developers have noted that archaeologists have been monitoring construction sites, and plans for tree planting and habitat restoration are included in the project's development.
