Skylum to discontinue AI portrait editor Aperty in November

Skylum has announced that it will discontinue its AI portrait editor, Aperty, on November 4. The decision comes despite previous promises made during the app's 2024 launch regarding long-term updates and a roadmap for 2025.

A company spokesperson stated that the move is intended to allow Skylum to focus resources on its flagship product, Luminar. Skylum noted that Aperty’s portrait-editing capabilities have already been integrated into Luminar, which the company aims to enhance with new technologies to create an ultimate editing tool.

While existing users will likely be able to continue using the application, it is not expected to receive further updates. The discontinuation follows reports that Skylum had already begun pulling support for the app and removing its dedicated social media presence. Customers who purchased subscriptions or lifetime licenses have yet to receive official information regarding compensation.
