Skyward Specialty Insurance names Taryn McHarg as successor to retiring CFO

Skyward Specialty Insurance Group has announced that Chief Financial Officer Mark Haushill will retire at the end of March 2027. Taryn McHarg, the current Deputy CFO and CFO of Apollo Group Holdings, has been named as his successor.

McHarg, an Australian citizen, previously served as the CFO for international markets at Bupa and worked at Ernst & Young. Her appointment follows Skyward’s $555 million acquisition of Apollo, a specialty underwriting platform, in January. The company stated that promoting an internal executive is intended to ensure continuity in financial planning.

Haushill, who has served as CFO since 2015, will transition into a Senior Advisor role through December 2027 to assist with the leadership handover. Following the announcement, Skyward Group (SKWD) shares experienced volatility, dropping as much as 1.53% during morning trading before partially recovering.
