Skyway Aviation Handling Company acquires AmbuLift for Nigerian airports

Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) has acquired and deployed a high-capacity AmbuLift to improve inclusive passenger services in Nigeria. This specialized equipment allows for the safe and dignified transfer of passengers with reduced mobility, such as wheelchair users and stretcher-bound individuals, by using a hydraulic system to lift a fully enclosed cabin to aircraft-door level.

SAHCO is currently the only aviation ground handling company in Nigeria to operate this specific technology. The acquisition follows the company’s previous deployment of Evac-Chairs for stair navigation. The procurement and integration process involved strategic guidance from British Airways to ensure alignment with international aviation standards and global best practices.
