Sıla Gençoğlu cleared in drug test, issues public statement
Turkish singer Sıla Gençoğlu was detained on 16 July as part of a probe that involved several well‑known figures. She submitted blood, hair and urine samples to the Turkish Forensic Medicine Institute. Subsequent reports indicated that her test did not reveal any illicit drug or stimulant and that she was released under judicial control. In a post on X, Gençoğlu thanked supporters and asserted confidence in the findings, writing “Alnım ak, başım dik”. The investigation also found that fellow artist Aybüke Albere tested negative, while some other individuals examined in the same operation showed traces of different substances. A conflicting early report claimed bromazepam had been detected in her samples, but later releases from the institute emphasized a negative result.
