Former Serbian model Slađana Tesla has been found dead in her apartment in New Belgrade. Her body was discovered on Tuesday, October 13, after neighbors reported an unpleasant odor emanating from her residence. Authorities have transferred her body to the Institute for Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and time of death. Preliminary inspections found no signs of violence or third-party involvement.

Tesla, aged 53, was a prominent figure in the fashion industry during the 1990s and early 2000s. She worked with major international designers such as Valentino, Vivienne Westwood, and Dior. Following her modeling career, she transitioned into roles as a choreographer, casting director, and producer. She also gained public attention for her claimed ancestral connection to the famous scientist Nikola Tesla.

Colleagues and friends from the fashion community have expressed deep sadness over her passing, remembering her as a consummate professional and a significant talent of her generation.
