SLAM Festival returns to Milan for second edition of film score celebration
The second edition of SLAM (Sounds Like a Movie), an international film score festival organized by CAM Sugar, will take place from December 11 to 13 at Triennale Milano. The event features a diverse program including concerts, screenings, DJ sets, workshops, and talks designed to bridge archival heritage with contemporary cinema and music.
Key international participants include Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills, performing his ‘Tomorrow Comes the Harvest’ project, and Polish composer Hania Rani. The festival also features director Romain Gavras, who will present ‘The Battle of Algiers’ on its 60th anniversary, alongside filmmakers Abel Ferrara and Kléber Mendonça Filho.
A special preview will be held on November 29 at Teatro alla Scala, featuring a screening of Federico Fellini’s ‘8½’ with Nino Rota’s music performed live by the Filarmonica della Scala. Other highlights include a tribute to Piero Umiliani for his centenary and the presentation of previously unpublished soundtrack material by Gino Paoli.
