Slash Announces Guns N' Roses Writing New Album, Studio Work After Tour

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash confirmed that the band is actively writing new material and plans to enter the studio once its world tour concludes. The group has not released a studio album since 2008's *Chinese Democracy*, and Slash likened the current writing process to the rapid sessions that produced the *Use Your Illusion* albums in the early 1990s. He said the new songs are “getting closer and closer,” but gave no specific release date.

Slash also noted that after the tour he will resume his own schedule with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, whose fifth album is slated for February 2027. The band’s tour will continue through Australia and New Zealand from late November to mid‑December, covering cities such as Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.
