Slatina Mayor receives UHDDR representatives following sports victory

The Mayor of Slatina, Tomo Tomić, received representatives from the Virovitica-Podravina County branch of the Association of Croatian Homeland War Volunteers (UHDDR). The meeting, led by branch president Vlado Kočiš, focused on the association's recent achievements and future cooperation with the City of Slatina.

A primary highlight of the meeting was the success of the Virovitica-Podravina County UHDDR team at the 31st traditional sports and educational gathering of Croatian Homeland War volunteers held on the island of Krk. The team secured first place in the overall team standings, earning 212.50 points against competitors from across Croatia.

Representatives emphasized that such gatherings serve to promote unity, foster social connections among veterans, and preserve the history of the Homeland War, particularly for younger generations. Kočiš noted that the association's goal is to ensure the truth of the war is passed down to future generations through continued community projects and local support.
