Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir Leads AI Partnerships at Fenris Creations for EVE Frontier

Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, former Icelandic Minister of Justice and former Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, has been appointed Senior Director of AI Partnerships at Fenris Creations, the company formerly known as CCP Games. In her new role she will coordinate collaborations with AI research labs, universities, policymakers and strategic partners for a research initiative built around the virtual world EVE Frontier.

The initiative seeks to use the persistent, player‑driven economy of EVE Frontier as a live proving ground for advanced artificial‑intelligence systems. By observing autonomous agents interacting with real players in an open, evolving economic environment, Fenris Creations aims to assess AI behavior in conditions that resemble real societies and to inform responsible AI development.

Fenris Creations, based in Reykjavik, Iceland, has spent several months developing the program, testing the hypothesis that long‑lasting virtual worlds can provide valuable insights before AI is deployed more broadly in everyday life.
