Slaven Bilić discusses social media pressure and career growth

Croatia national football team coach Slaven Bilić spoke at the Sport Innovest conference in Zagreb, held at the Mozaik Event Center. During an interview with former high jumper Blanka Vlašić, Bilić addressed the evolving challenges faced by modern athletes.

Bilić highlighted the intense pressure exerted by social media, noting that unlike previous decades when criticism was limited to stadiums or newspapers, today's athletes find it nearly impossible to maintain privacy. He observed that even if players avoid reading online comments, the criticism often reaches them through friends or acquaintances.

Reflecting on his professional journey, Bilić discussed the importance of experience and adaptability. Having taken his first coaching role at age 37, he noted that his career across various leagues and countries, including England, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, has provided him with the necessary maturity and wisdom to navigate different footballing environments.
