Slavi Vasilev faces corruption probe over petroleum interests
The political party ‘We Continue the Change’ has filed a formal signal with the Anti-Corruption Commission regarding a potential conflict of interest involving Member of Parliament Slavi Vasilev.
The complaint stems from a National Assembly decision on September 23, 2026, which overturned a previous ban on the export and domestic supply of petroleum products, including diesel and aviation fuel. During the parliamentary debate, Vasilev actively supported the repeal of these restrictions and subsequently voted in favor of the measure.
According to the signal, commercial registry data indicates that Vasilev was the sole owner and manager of ‘East Petroleum’ EOOD, a company established in January 2025. The company’s registered activities include the wholesale and retail trade of oil and petroleum products, including exports. The party alleges that Vasilev failed to declare this private interest during the legislative process, which is required under Article 145 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.
