Slavjanka Petrovska receives Princess Olga Order in Kyiv
Slavjanka Petrovska, the former Minister of Defense of North Macedonia and current Member of Parliament, has officially received the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, in Kyiv. The state decoration was originally awarded by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in September 2023 in recognition of her personal contributions to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities during her tenure as minister.
The award was presented by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, during a meeting in Kyiv. Petrovska attended the National Prayer Vigil for Ukraine, a significant spiritual and diplomatic event. During her meeting with Zhovkva, Petrovska reaffirmed North Macedonia’s steadfast support for Ukraine and its commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace.
Petrovska emphasized that defending Ukraine’s sovereignty is essential to protecting the international order that safeguards smaller nations like North Macedonia, stating that “lasting peace cannot be built on impunity.”
