Slavonian traditions celebrated through forestry and music events
Various cultural and traditional events recently took place in the Slavonia region of Croatia. In Našice, the 26th edition of the Days of the Slavonian Forest was held at Perivoj Pejačević. The two-day event, held on September 4 and 5, brought together forestry professionals, scientists, and local producers. Highlights included a professional forestry worker competition, an amateur timber sawing contest, and a rural fair featuring local crafts and products. A culinary competition for 'čobanac' stew was also held, won by the Našice City Association of Retirees.
In Donji Andrijevci, the 28th Samica Tamburica Showcase was hosted by KUD Tomislav. The event focused on the traditional 'samica' musical instrument and celebrated the heritage of the Šokci people. Numerous cultural and artistic societies participated, including performers from Vinkovci, Biškupci, and guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The showcase featured singing, dancing, and solo performances to promote the preservation of traditional musical heritage for younger generations.
