Sleep disorders affect 57% of the Spanish population

A recent study by Takeda, surveying 1,200 adults, indicates that 57% of Spaniards report experiencing sleep problems. Specifically, 38% of respondents suffer from recurrent sleep issues, while 19% experience them occasionally. Factors such as modern lifestyles, screen time, and constant mobile phone usage are cited as contributors to poor rest, which can impact physical health and mental well-being.

In response to these challenges, some individuals are turning to cannabidiol (CBD) as a natural alternative to improve sleep routines. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce psychoactive effects and is increasingly used in wellness products like oils to assist with falling asleep or staying asleep.

Additionally, psychologists have identified a phenomenon known as ‘revenge bedtime procrastination.’ As explained by Alfredo Rodríguez Muñoz, a professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, this behavior involves deliberately delaying sleep to reclaim personal time after a day perceived as being entirely consumed by work or obligations.
