Common daily habits can undermine sleep quality. Excessive phone use before bed exposes the brain to blue light and mental stimulation, while drinking alcohol may help you fall asleep but disrupts REM sleep later in the night. Oversleeping on weekends can reset the body's internal clock, and using the bedroom as a workspace blurs the mental cue that the bed is for rest.

Choosing the right sleep environment also matters. Prioritise immediate comfort and softness in bedding, select breathable materials—such as bamboo—that regulate temperature, and create a calming bedroom atmosphere with dim lighting and reduced noise. Layer bedding intentionally and focus on durable, high‑quality products rather than price alone to support long‑term sleep health.
