Sleman and Kediri road lighting projects delayed by administrative reviews and pedestrian revamp

In Sleman Regency, the public road‑lighting (PJU) program for 3,989 lamp points, financed with an Rp21.1 billion budget, has not entered physical construction despite a target of July 2026. The District Transportation Office (Dishub) has completed an inspection‑agency review and is awaiting the official delivery of the review report and a contract‑draft assessment by the Sleman Prosecutor’s Office, as the project falls under a strategic‑package assistance scheme.

In Kediri City, dozens of PJU fixtures along Jalan Panglima Sudirman have been removed to allow a pedestrian‑revitalisation works. The temporary lighting will be supplied by the contractor while the road work proceeds, with the overall project slated for completion by December 2026. Dishub has warned motorists to exercise extra caution at night due to reduced illumination.
