Sleman Enhances Transport Safety with Railway Crossing Closure and Road Work

Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 6 Jogja closed the last illegal at‑grade railway crossing in Sleman Regency at Rewulu in May 2026, ending all unprotected level crossings in the area. Manager of public relations Feni Novida Saragih said the closure reduces accident risk and is part of a broader safety program that also includes new guard posts at authorized crossings.
