Sleman Regency prepares Rp3.55 trillion budget and drought response

The Sleman Regency Government has drafted a 2027 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD) totaling Rp3.55 trillion. Regent Harda Kiswaya stated the budget focuses on six priority agendas: reducing poverty and income inequality, improving human resource quality, enhancing key sectors such as tourism and manufacturing, protecting the environment, and improving government accountability and public services.

The 2027 budget structure targets Rp3.25 trillion in regional revenue, resulting in a projected deficit of Rp294 billion. The administration aims to use the budget to drive economic competitiveness through digital transformation and integrity-based governance.

In addition to long-term planning, the local government is actively managing immediate environmental challenges. To combat drought risks during the dry season, the Sleman administration has allocated funds for emergency water dropping and infrastructure repairs. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is monitoring water supplies across 17 districts, with recent interventions occurring in Sumbersari, Moyudan, and Girikerto. Regent Kiswaya emphasized the need to protect water catchment areas through strict spatial planning and reforestation to ensure long-term water sustainability.
