SLEP Chiloé distributes tablets to rural schools

The Local Public Education Service (SLEP) of Chiloé has begun distributing tablets to 19 educational establishments, primarily located in rural sectors of the province. The initiative represents an investment of 25 million pesos and was requested by the schools themselves to support digital textbooks and pedagogical projects.

One beneficiary, the Escuela Rural Álvaro Vargas Miranda in Queilen, plans to utilize the technology in a dedicated language room. According to SLEP Chiloé Executive Director Pablo Baeza, the goal is to close the technological gap while fostering bilingual intercultural education by integrating English language studies with native language preservation.

This distribution follows previous technological investments by SLEP Chiloé, which included 309 notebooks and 141 All-in-One computers totaling 286 million pesos.
