Süleyman Soylu to be summoned over bribery allegations

A Turkish court has decided to summon former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu to testify in a legal case involving allegations of bribery and insults against public officials. The development stems from the ongoing trial regarding the murder of Halil Falyalı, a figure linked to illegal betting.

During the proceedings, defendant Mehmet Faysal Söylemez alleged that Soylu received millions of dollars from Hüsnü Falyalı, claiming the funds were transported by former Ankara Police Chief Servet Yılmaz. Following these statements, an indictment was prepared against Mehmet Faysal Söylemez and Mustafa Söylemez for charges including public insult and slander against Soylu and several judicial members.

The Istanbul 55th Criminal Court of First Instance has initiated the process of notifying Soylu and other complainants to appear in court. Defense lawyers for the Söylemez brothers have requested that the complainants be heard before they provide further statements.
