Slezskoostravský hrad to receive new 97 million CZK multifunctional hall

The Slezskoostravský hrad in Ostrava is set to receive a new multifunctional hall to host cultural events, conferences, exhibitions, and weddings. The project, managed by the company Černá louka, involves replacing an existing building that is considered technically and economically inefficient.

The proposed two-story structure will have a capacity for 150 to 200 people. Designed by Atelier 38, the building is intended to be a contemporary architectural interpretation of the castle's historical motifs, such as fortifications and walls, rather than a direct historical replica. The design includes improved social facilities, barrier-free access to the castle tower and eastern wing, and preserved access to the roof terrace.

The city of Ostrava will provide 4.5 million CZK for the preparation of project documentation. The total construction cost is estimated at approximately 97 million CZK.
