Slidedrain receives DOGA support as solar power regulations impact Norway

Slidedrain has received support from DOGA (Design and Architecture Norway) to develop new residential innovation projects. The company aims to use design methodology and user insight to create the next generation of design drains, focusing on easier installation and increased flexibility for plumbers and contractors. The goal is to strengthen Norwegian competitiveness and facilitate growth in the Nordic and European markets.

In a separate development regarding Norway's energy transition, housing cooperatives are facing regulatory hurdles in sharing solar power. While Norway aims to produce 8 TWh of solar power annually by 2030, current regulations prevent residential housing cooperatives from sharing surplus electricity produced across different property identification numbers. Although a regulatory change in 2026 allowed sharing within continuous commercial areas, private residential developments remain excluded, limiting the potential for local energy production.
