Sling Freestream Adds Channels as Free Sports Streams Expand on Smart TVs

Sling Freestream announced the addition of six new free channels, broadening its lineup with lifestyle, entertainment and factual programming. The service remains ad‑supported, requires no credit‑card sign‑up and is available on a wide range of devices including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and smart TVs.

At the same time, several free ad‑supported streaming platforms have increased their sports offerings for cord‑cutters. Pluto TV now provides dozens of live‑sports and highlight channels directly on smart‑TV interfaces, while Tubi, backed by Fox, added over two dozen sports feeds and streamed the Super Bowl in 4K. The Roku Channel introduced a dedicated sports hub featuring live MLB, NBA G League, Formula E and X Games events. Built‑in manufacturer services such as Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels also deliver NFL, MLB, NBA and other sports channels without any additional app installation. All these options are accessible without a subscription, reflecting a rapid expansion of free FAST (Free Ad‑Supported Television) services for viewers seeking live and on‑demand sports content.
