Slipform proposes 207-meter Jesus Christ statue in the Philippines
The Polish engineering and construction firm Slipform has unveiled visualizations for a monumental 207-meter-tall statue of Jesus Christ planned for the Ilocos Sur province in the northern Philippines. If constructed, the monument would become the tallest statue of its kind in the world, significantly surpassing the height of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Slipform, based in Szczecin, has presented the conceptual design to a potential Filipino investor. The project follows discussions held during a recent visit to Manila by Polish President Karol Nawrocki. The company aims to utilize its specialized slipform technology, which allows for continuous, 24-hour reinforced concrete construction. Daniel Kisała, the founder and CEO of Slipform, stated that the company estimates the reinforced concrete core of the monument could be completed in approximately 40 days using this method.
The project is currently awaiting evaluation and approval from the unnamed investor. The construction would require up to 27,000 cubic meters of concrete for the core structure.
