Slipknot releases “Arsenal,” first new single in three years
Slipknot has released “Arsenal,” their first new single in over three years. The track marks a significant transition for the band, serving as the first studio recording featuring Brazilian drummer Eloy Casagrande. It also follows the recent departures of longtime members Sid Wilson and Craig Jones.
Directed by M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the accompanying music video stars actor Jackson White and features a surreal, dark aesthetic. Frontman Corey Taylor described the song as a “pummelling experience” that encapsulates the band’s signature intensity, blending metal, punk, and hip-hop elements.
While the single is a standalone release and not part of their upcoming eighth studio album, the band is currently working on new material with producer Matt Wallace. Guitarist Jim Root noted that the group is utilizing an organic, collaborative process to develop their next record.
