Slokovec residents protest construction delays on local path

Residents of Slokovec, a suburb of Ludbreg, have expressed significant frustration regarding the slow progress of a pedestrian and bicycle path construction project. For nearly two months, excavated roads and unfinished paths have caused various local issues.

Local inhabitants reported that constant dust from passing vehicles has made it impossible to ventilate homes or keep windows clean. Additionally, the construction has caused damage to private property, such as excavated driveway entrances, and has created safety concerns due to narrowed roads and heavy truck traffic.

Following pressure from the opposition coalition ‘Ludbreg može više’, work on the project resumed on Thursday after a nearly two-month standstill. The Varaždin County Road Administration, which is the project investor, has stated that works are currently ongoing.
