Slough arsonist pleads guilty after vehicle fire and police chase
Krzysztof Orzechowski, 32, has pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court to arson with intent to endanger life and dangerous driving following a series of incidents in Slough, Berkshire.
In the early hours of March 9, Orzechowski poured fuel over two vehicles parked on a driveway on Stoke Road, setting them ablaze. During the act, he accidentally set his own hand on fire. The resulting blaze spread toward the family home, forcing the occupants, including children, to evacuate. The family escaped without physical injury, though they reported significant psychological distress and a loss of their sense of safety.
Six days after the arson, Orzechowski led police on a high-speed chase through country lanes, reaching speeds of up to 100mph. The pursuit ended when he crashed while taking a corner at high speed. He was arrested and subsequently remanded in custody.
