Slovak authorities issue warnings on human trafficking and cemetery scams
In Senica, an educational event was held for 9th-grade students to prevent human trafficking. Organized by the Information Office for Victims of Crime in Trnava under the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic, the program focused on the vulnerabilities of young people in social media and online spaces. Experts highlighted risks such as manipulative behavior, fraudulent job offers, and dangers associated with working or traveling abroad.
Separately, the Police Presidium of the Slovak Republic has issued a warning regarding potential scams at cemeteries ahead of All Saints' Day. Citizens are advised to be cautious of individuals offering monument cleaning, repair, or reconstruction services. Police warned against persons who apply pressure, demand immediate payment, or offer services without a clearly agreed-upon price. Authorities recommend verifying service providers and contacting the police at 158 if suspicious activity is encountered.
